If you’ve been following us on Facebook, Instagram, or reading our previous blogs, you’ve probably seen glimpses of our cabins, sunsets, and peaceful forest trails. But today, we wanted to step out from behind the camera and introduce ourselves—Tamara and Ramon—and our two four-legged co-hosts, Copper and Felix.

Reverie Retreat is our dream come to life. We both came to this land seeking a place where nature, beauty, and connection could flourish. After years of planning, building, and navigating the ups and downs of creating something from scratch, we feel deeply grateful every day to call these 32 acres home.
And of course, no introduction to Reverie Retreat would be complete without meeting our resident welcoming committee—Copper and Felix. Copper is the extrovert, all tail wags and instant affection. She’ll climb into your lap the first chance she gets and snuggle in like you’re old friends. Felix, on the other hand, takes a little more convincing. At first, he’ll hang back, bark a bit, and watch you closely with his “I’m keeping my eye on you” look and maybe even give a little snarl with his underbite. He prefers to keep his distance until he’s sure you’ve passed the test. But once you do? He’ll leap onto your lap, curl up as if he’s known you forever, and happily soak up every cuddle you offer.
Why We Love Sharing This Land
We love sharing Reverie with guests because it offers something we believe the world needs more of: space to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect—with each other, with nature, and with yourself. Whether it’s soaking in a private outdoor tub under the stars, wandering the forest trails, or watching the wildlife from your deck, there’s a rhythm here that invites you to truly rest. And if you bring your furry friend along, they’ll love curling up in the cabin with you or trotting happily by your side on the trails.
Speaking of wildlife, this land has introduced us to an incredible cast of characters. We’ve watched bears lumber along the back trails, spotted bobcats crossing the road at dawn and watched great horned owl hunting at dusk. Flocks of wild turkeys strut by like they own the place, while deer and jackrabbits make regular appearances. We even had a gosling hop into our hot tub while we were soaking in it. See our Gosling Blog. But the star of our wildlife tales? A sneaky fox with a taste for footwear. For three nights in a row, he boldly came onto our patio and stole one of our flip-flops, vanishing into the dark like a master thief. Yes, we caught him on camera. No, we still don’t know what he did with them.
Why This Place Feels So Alive
Life at Reverie Retreat keeps us on our toes. Some days it’s a bear wandering the back trail, other days it’s a fox making off with our footwear or a gosling turning up in the hot tub. Wildlife is a regular part of life here, and those encounters add to what makes this place special.
We built Reverie as a place where people can step away from their routines and spend time somewhere real—where the scenery changes with the light, the sounds come from the forest, and the unexpected can walk right past your door.
Want to wander these trails yourself? Learn more at www.reverieretreat.com, and follow along on Facebook and Instagram for daily glimpses, wildlife cameo appearances included. And remember, Reverie Retreat is dog-friendly—your pups are welcome to settle in by your side in the cabins and adventure with you on the trails. Copper and Felix—and maybe a surprise gosling—await you.
