Milky Way

Milky Way

A new atlas of the night sky across the entire globe shows that more than 80 percent of the planet’s land areas—and 99 percent of the population of the United States and Europe—live under skies so blotted with man-made light that the Milky Way has become virtually invisible (information from National Geographic).

And so last Tuesday night I decided to stay up and shoot some images of the Milky Way as seen from Reverie retreat.

I did not move completely away from any light but instead wanted to see how much I was able to see from right outside the house.

And here are some “star-trails” with the milky way in it

  1. I love to look at the night sky. Where I live, it is dark, no street lights, etc. so I can see thousands of stars. Your photos are beautiful. Thanks.
