I’m not stealing these ideas! (just borrowing them)

We have to submit designs for cabins as part of our permit application to the County, so Ramon and I have been scouring the internet and ogling design magazines to find cabins we like *and* think we could build (or at least that *he* thinks he can build – I’m not particularly useful in that arena).

I thought it would be fun to post them here so you can see what we’ve been dreaming about lately:

So this is your chance to weigh in on the future look of Reverie Retreat. Let us know what you think!

  1. Margaret Robertson

I like 5 and 6. But they all look nice. Some have too much glass. That wouldn’t be very good in a hail storm!!

  2. Definitely something I hadn’t considered! But we don’t have much hail here in the sierra foothills so it’s not much to worry about. Occasionally, but never very damaging.

  3. 2 for its grandness and natural stone at the base , however , 6 has some real charm , 7 has good strong and simple construction but I’d do it in repurposed timber and char it Japanese style : Shou-sugi-ban

    1. Do you know how to do Shou-sugi-ban? We haven’t experimented with it, although I think it’s beautiful.
